STATEMENT of FAITH
The Statement of Faith for the Impact Assemblies of Covenant Churches
The members of the Impact Assemblies of Covenant Churches hold the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the authoritative rule of our faith and practice. We believe that governments are God-ordained institutions intended for the benefit of humanity. We encourage our members to honor magistrates, civil authorities, and obey civil laws. The following Statement of Faith encapsulates our biblical position.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God. (2 Peter 1:19-21)
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent and manifested in three persons: (1) God, The Father, (2) God, The Son, and (3) God, The Holy Ghost. (1 John 5:7)
We believe in the blessed hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ Jesus, at His return. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)
We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ our Lord. (St. John 3:16)
We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation. (Acts 19:2)
We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides for the propitiation for our transgressions and iniquities. It also provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer. (Isaiah 53:5)
We believe that the Baptism with the Holy Ghost is given to believers who ask for it. (St. Luke 11:13)
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in this present world. AMEN. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)
