Bishop Dorell D. McCroery, Sr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Morris Armstrong Jr. and Deaconess LaShonda McCroery. A man of unwavering faith, visionary leadership, and dedicated service, Bishop McCroery has committed his life to advancing God's Kingdom and uplifting communities through servant leadership.

From a young age, it was clear that God's hand was upon his life and that he was called to a divine purpose. At just 8 years old, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and by 11, he had received the Holy Ghost, marking the beginning of his spiritual journey.

​

Bishop McCroery’s theological foundation includes a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, a Master of Ministry in Pastoral Leadership, and an honorary Doctor of Christian Leadership from esteemed institutions, equipping him to serve effectively in ministry.

​

On November 19, 2010, he married the love of his life, Calandria M. Thomas. Their nearly 16-year union has been blessed with five children: Demetrius, Crystalynn, Dorell Jr., Chloe’ (deceased), and Cortnie’. He is also a proud grandfather to Kay'lani.

As the Visionary and Organizing Pastor of Impact Covenant Church in southwest Atlanta, Georgia, Bishop McCroery leads with passion and purpose. His leadership was formally recognized on October 13, 2012, during the Gathering of the Eagles International College of Apostles and Bishops Congress in Smyrna, Georgia, where he was consecrated as a Bishop by the late Archbishop Kevin B. Robinson and a distinguished college of Apostles and Bishops. During that ceremony, he was also affirmed as an Apostle in the Lord’s church.

Most recently, on July 22, 2022, during the International Holy Covocation of the United Churches of God in Christ, Bishop McCroery was appointed Jurisdictional Prelate of the Florida Southeast Jurisdiction by Chief Apostle and Presiding Bishop Aaron B. Lackey, Sr.

​

In addition to his pastoral duties, Bishop McCroery serves as a chaplain with the MARTA Police Department, assigned to the South Precinct serving South Fulton and Clayton counties.

He is dedicated to a ministry of vision—seeing, hearing, and speaking into lives—to facilitate true deliverance and transformation, a conviction he steadfastly upholds.
